Bowl #2 or UFO?

Well, It supposed to be my second bowl, but it looks a little like a UFO, but hey I am still learning so I am ok with it :) Comments and criticisms welcome and appreciated. Mostly I was trying to focus on getting the inside and the outside profile the same thickness and consistancy

Nothing wrong with that bowl... looks good.. If ANYthing maybe a line near the top.. a break up maybe.. I'm assuming it's maple? If maple dosn't have alot of figure, it tends to give you that "ufo" look when contrasted to the dark bottom.. add some lines, beads or a change to the lip.. Your on your way though.. If you take it off the lathe instead of it "flying" off the lathe, you've made a beautiful piece. :)

Thank you all for the comments. I was thinking about making a lid but I am not sure.

Scott I like it as is, I would save a lid for another project.

I agree I don't see a thing wrong with that one. I would save the lid for another time. Nice form and I like the contrasting wood.

Nice looking bowl Scott! I like the grain of the darker wood. Great looking finish!
