Box Elder Burl Bowl

This is a little Box Elder Burl Bowl that was a core from a larger piece. It's big brother died an untimely death on my lathe last week. The bowl is 5 inches wide and 2 high. It is finished with Watco and buffed.

Nope, I like the bigger bases. If the bowl will actually get use the larger bases add a lot of stability to them. I make all mine with a larger base. I love the burl in that, I can just picture how large the burl was in the larger blank. I don't see much burl BE and you really brought out the highlights in it. Superb!!

I have seen this bowl in person and I agree with Mark, the base is just right. The bowl has a good feel to it and that is something you can never get from pictures.
