coping saw blade

another debate...teeth down,so cuttin on the down stroke for coping trim...or teeth up with cutting stroke up? i prefer down as not to splinter wood.

I've used mine both ways, but cutting on the pull stroke seems to work better for most cuts.

Down is a little more work but cleaner cut.

I dont think there is any right way because of the 7 carpenters on my job we are almost split on up/down. THe job gets done.

I cant imagine teeth up for stain grade work though.

I use collins foot, but I still use coping saw for 1/4" round and a few other things. Also, when I have put down shoe on a third floor I cut free hand with "jap" saw. I'm to old to be carrying chopsaw up all of those stairs. Maybe I need to hire a good looking young fellow to carry things.;)
