This piece is 9" dia. x 4-1/4" tall. Woods used : cherry, wenge, yellowheart, white oak, leapordwood and veneers. Total of 130 pieces plus the 8 layers of veneer. All comments and critiques welcome. Thanks for looking.

Do you use anything other than a bowl gouge on these???

Some kind of lighting inside of it would really set it off. It needs to be looked at by anyone in the room. Again that's a real beauty.

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

Bill, as the open and closed segmenting are totally different processes I did turn this in two pieces. I first glued up the bottom, then did the open segments and turned the inside bottom. Then glued the top on and turned it and the open segments.
