I'm really leaning toward that jointer but was going to wait til May when the Muncy tent sale (and maybe other sales) is. Any idea how long the sale lasts?

I got that jointer a few months ago also and am very happy with it. I did have had an issue with the set screws on the upper belt pulley coming loose and letting the pulley spin on the shaft...twice.

Have you had that happen?

I've got it and like it, thought it's my first jointer so I can't compare it to others. Does its job well though.

I do have a bit of a rattle in the back area though while running (crank handle is part of the rattle, but there's something else too sometimes).

I have the 0586 and love it too. Sure does beat my old 6" jointer(with a 47" long bed). I have the same rattle too........its the crank handle doing it. Just never bugged me enough to try and fix it yet.:o
