I haven't had much time to turn lately, but made this little curved rim bowl from a scrap of pecan the other day. It is about 6.5" x 2.75". Any comments or critiques are welcome.

That's a beauty! I like the undercut/curled lip.

How did you find Pecan to turn? Was this as hard as its reputation?

I am new to this spinny stuff, so I don't have much to compare it to, but it seemed to turn pretty well. There was a little tear out on the endgrain, but I got a lot of nice curlies using freshly sharpened tools.

1. Very nice bowl. It is well proportioned with the curl on the rim.

2. Your SCRAPS appear to be very nice also! :D

I may have to take a ride up into South Georgia tomorrow to see if any pecan trees got blown dawn in last night's storms.
