Why won't my pictures show up?

OK. What gives? I can't get my pictures to show up. I think I have followed the instructions correctly but when I click on "preview post" my pictures don't show up. I thought (incorrectly, obviously) that maybe the pictures don't show up in preview but when I post the new thread they aren't there either. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

they will not show in the preview, so you were right about that. The two most common problems I have had is that my picture is too big (I think it has to be under 100k I try to get mine down to around 40-50k) or I am not patient when I click add this file. Sometimes I forget that I have to wait till it shows up underneath.
