Euro hinge question

I’m building some face frame cabinets and plan on using Euro hinges for the first time. My options therefore, are to use a specific face frame hinge or use a standard euro hinge with face frame mounting plate (ex: Blum Compact 33 vs Blum CLIP hinge w/ ff mounting plate). Does anyone have a preference one way or the other?

The only other disadvantage I can see for the Compact 33 is the built in 3/16” gap between door and face frame. Other than protrusion into the cabinet opening, are there any other practical considerations?

You can get the Clip style hinges from BLum as an inset version as well as overlay style for use with face frames. They don't show a picture in tehir catalog, but they do list inset hinges for face frames. I just bought three pair from them.

I would opt for three way adjustment over two way any day!

You've pretty much listed the differences, although I believe the Compact can be adusted three ways. For my taste, that huge gap between the door back and the face frame is a problem. If you have drawers in your project, you also need to use the same big gap. I also like the larger footprint of a standard mounting plate. When I'm doing faceframe cabinets, I glue a block on to the side wall so that I can use the standard mounting plate.
