Has anyone ever made one of these?

Rockler sells a similar product. I bought a pair and built them a couple years ago and use them quite frequently for glue ups. There are many other methods that probably work as well. They were cheep and easy to make.

I made a set at the time and used them quite a bit. Then I bought some Bessey parrallel jaw clamps and haven't used them since. They work well enough but the parrallel jaw clamps are MUCH easier and faster to use. Of course they are also more expensive. The idea behind the wood clapms is that they keep the glued up boards straight but so do the parrallel jaw clamps and they are much easier.
