I've had this router for about 2 1/2 years. Haven't used it a lot, but has always worked fine. Normally kept it in the house, but left it in the shop last Dec. working on ductwork for the cyclone. It comes on, but only at lower speeds. Starting out, if I cranked up the dial for the speed control, about #2 of 4, or half way, it wsas like I turned it off. I played with it, messed with it, took it apart, sprayed some tuner cleaner at the vs control (I say at, not into, it seems to be a sealed control unit soldered to the circuit board.) I can get it up to about 3 or so before it dies now, but it doesn't seem to have any "guts" to it. Has anyone had a similar problem with one of these? I'm guessing I could order the little circuit board that has the vs control on it, but I bet it's not cheap!
Thanks for any ideas or help you can offer! Jim.

7529 & 8529 plagued with brain/controller & brake problems.
Yours is typical.
PC has it all but cannot make a good plunger yet.

Thanks Pat. I thought I remembered something about problems. Can I bypass the vs part by hardwiring it? I've never used the slower speed. Jim.
