I am chasing a couple of auctions to buy a Powermatic TS but in one site the saw is green and in the other the color yellow. Both are suppose to be Powermatic 66. What it the difference?
Thanks Syd

Green is older, early 70's and older. Gold was later 70's.

Actuall there were three colors. The oldest were green, later were gold and the latest are yellow. Check the motor size. Some of the earlier only had 2 hp.

This is my '92 vintage gold 3 hp unit.

Hi Syd,

Ask for the serial number. The first two numbers are the year the saw was made. Good luck in the hunt.

According to a recent post on another site, there were at least 4 colors of Powermatic equipment: pea green through approximately 1970; Powermatic green (usually with racing stripes) from about 1970 - about 1982; Powermatic gold from about 1982 - about 1995; and baby poop yellow (mustard?) from about 1995 - present. I may be off a little on the exact years of changeover, but I think that is pretty close.
