Just wanted to pass this along.......Was searching for an extra set of knives for my DJ-20 and noticed that Amazon has the DJ-20 for $999.99.

This is an incredible deal.........I paid $1400 for this jointer about 4 years ago......This isn't the X5 version with the different paint job and 5-year warranty, but the jointers are identical... The X5 version sells for $1699.99 on Amazon.

For those thinking of "upgrading" to an 8-inch jointer - You won't find a nicer jointer for under $1000 !!!!!

On a similar note - Amazon has been really wierd like this during the past few weeks.....I have seen their Unisaws with a 30-inch Biesmeyer fence fluctuate from $1200 up to $2000. One day this saw is $1299, then the next day it is back up to $1999 - What is up with this?

I hope someone can take advantage of this sale price.......

Nate, I posted yesterday asking what the difference was between this jointer and the X5 DJ 20. I am sooooo tempted.

Now at $899 + $199 shipping.

That price is crazy (75% off or so). If I was looking for an 8" jointer, I would jump all over this.

Now its back to $1699.00 + $199.00 shipping but a $250.00 rebate.

I was just at a WW show this weekend and I saw the All in One 99" guide I ordered from amazon and I came up to the manufacturers booth and I told the guy I just ordered mine from amazon and they will ship by March 20th. I asked what his price was so I could just pick it up from him then cancel my order with amazon. He told me no one sells his stuff cheaper than amazon. I was shocked but I figured amazon buys in large quantities so they will never lose money since they are so large with so many customers. For what I purchased from amazon the guy in the booth told me he would have to charge me $30.00 more bucks then what I paid. The way he works around it at the shows is he sells the package deal of all the items for one price while amazon parts out each piece...

Still $899.00 + $199.00 and dropped the rebate, funny how they move the $ around from hour to hour, I am sure someone there at the zon does this to mess with our heads...

It looks like the X5 is 1600 plus the rebate, and the other one (non X5) is 899.

In other words, there's two of them listed.

Both say 42" infeed table and 1.5 HP motor.. don't really know the difference, but I've got one of the 899 ones sitting in the shopping cart, tempting me to pull the trigger.

So I did something else. Pulled on the $2499 + free shipping on the Delta DJ-30 3-phase model. I have been so wanting this since last August when it was $1899 plus shipping on clearence. Going to be a crazy jointer!

Well, I just could not resist the 899 + 199 shipping. That is a heck of a deal on a DJ20. I don't know if these amazon deals are saving me money or bankrupting me.

Wait to you see the size of the crate, then you'll really think you're crazy.

These are both good deals, but the timing is bad.
This weekend I drove to Grizzly and bought a planer and jointer. I bought the last available 12" jointer. When I saw the size of the crate I almost changed my mind. The crate was huge, over 8 ft long, almost 3 feet wide, almost 4' tall, and weighted 1000lbs. It was a good thing I came with my 15' trailer instead of a pick-up!

Steve, I still have the steel pallet that my 12" jointer from Wilke shipped on and its almost 8' in length, 38" wide and 40" tall, it was 1280 lbs. had a free 2 hp DC strapped to the crate as well. Glad I had it shipped to work and pulled it off the truck with a pallet jack and my forklift...

Detached shop will make this easier I am hoping. Liftgate I hope can get that beauty to the ground. If so we are in business.

Did anyone else get this deal? I just got a call from the freight company and mine is coming Monday afternoon.. Thanks to the OP for alerting me to this.

Maybe I overpaid with everyone else getting the Shop Fox clone for $700, but it's pretty nice that a liftgate delivery was included in the $199 shipping. I was really torn between this one and the Shop Fox, BTW.

We need that whole "Jetson's" thing going on; push a button on the side of your combo machine and it folds down to a briefcase for easy storage ;-)
