This is my First time turning Mallee and I love it, Turns nice and takes a nice finish.
I have 2 more blanks ready to turn http://joetonich.forumup.us/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
Measures 9 1/2" x 2" tall
bowl is 4 1/2" inside
Finished with Antique oil and buffed.

Beautiful piece, Jim. Mallee really is wonderful burl when it comes to color...you used that well in your piece!

It just don't get much better than that, Jim! Never worked that particular wood but, it sure does look beautiful and your selection of form really helps the wood speak for itself. :) :cool:

Hew WOW!! how did we let this one slip outta the country????:confused::eek:;) Good job on the sanding too, I know they often turn into saw blades sometimes!!

Robert I thought it turned pretty nice and easy but I did just finish up that Osage Orange(aka concrete) HF before starting on this one.
