This piece was inspired by Keith Burn's work. My pictures really are terrible. I'm going to have to get a dark room set up like I used to have. I started this over a year ago, blew it up, then rebuilt it, then it warped a little and tore itself apart. Finally got around to putting humpty dumpty back together and re-turned it today. I like it more now than I did back then. The form was originally a little fat. 9" tall, 4.5" diameter, sanded through 1200, finished with Behlens Woodturner Finish Stuff.
Thanks for lookin'.:)

Way neat, John! Surprised you had any time to do some turning, seeing as to how you're so busy all day pillaging the village for more turning stock! :D Well done, my friend! :)

Wow!! It may have taken longer than you wanted, but the wait was worth the finished product. Just beatiful!:D

Man, I'm glad this didn't go into the fire after the first try. It was worth shelving and giving a second chance later!
Beautiful work!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I think this will be the first piece that I put up for sale in a local amish store that specializes in hand-made wood items. They've invited me to join the other craftsmen.....which I consider to be quite an honor really. The store is full of awesome stuff. It'll be kinda cool if someone actually buys it!!:)

John...I got up early (5am) and worked on this while I was waiting for Earl Reid to arrive for his visit. Nothing like the smell of shavings in the morning!!!:)
