This wood is awesome, I love it.
Its very hard but turns pretty nice with a sharp gouge.
It is such a bright color of yellow it almost hurts your eyes to look at it.
A thanks to Dick Parr is in order for giving me a nice hunk of log to work with.
Measures 7 1/2" wide X 4 1/4" tall.
Antique oil, buffed.

Nice piece Jim. That Osage mellows to a really nice brown with exposure as well.

Jim, beautiful piece. Great form. Gorgeous.
Osage really polishes up beautifully, too...you almost don't need a finish if you take it up through the grits to something "really high" and then buff...neat wood.

Once again bow to the king of HF. Very nice piece. Great color. I'd like to see you do one from Chakte kok. I think the red would really pop. Again, beautiful work Jim, top notch.:)
P.S. what do you use for a back drop in your pictures.

You know what I like about the folks on this forum? They let the wood do the talking instead of making it look like something not found in nature.

It's a beauty Jim, and I really like the opening. It seems to fit this grain and color just right.
