This is the most difficult item that I have turned to date. I did the rings with a bent screwdriver that I ground to look something like a parting tool and used a Oneway termite tool for the first time on the inside. It actually was fairly easy to do when I remembered to take my time and not rush it. 8" high by 3" wide, curly, lightly spalted Big Leaf Maple, natural Danish oil, and buffed.

This was for my wife for Valentine's (25+ years!) I made the goblet with 3 rings in case I messed one up. Now I can't bring myself to break the third ring off. The piece that the goblet is sitting on is the other half of the blank that I started with. Overall, a pleasant learning experience. Thanks for looking. :)

Great job!

Break the third ring...doesn't feel right. It may also mean something bad.;)

Also break one ring along the grain and glue it back together intertwined with the other one. Drive people nuts trying to figure how you did it.

You did a great job and that's a nice wood. All in all, a wonderful Valentine's gift for your beautiful bride.

Man! That is some nice work Robert! Beautiful wood and a great form and finish! I'd leave the ring in place - let others figure out what it means!

Also break one ring along the grain and glue it back together intertwined with the other one. Drive people nuts trying to figure how you did it.

I had wondered how people did it and make them look good. (And since I'm already nuts I didn't have to drive at all while I wondered.)
