suggestion: before you go buy the plywood for a stand for the lathe or a workbench, consider this: check with lumber yards for damaged, drilled wrong or watermarked solid core doors. It happens all the time. Mistakes and mis-measured doors are an ideal top for such things. Hopefully helpful, Max.
