I am looking for some instructional video (preferably free) on the web that might give me some pointers on using rough, spindle and bowl gouges, as well a skews and scrapes

Are there any good sights out there that you can recommend?

Thanks.

Dennis,
I'll second Curt's recommendation of the Sorby site. They have approx. 20 different videos covering most of their tools.

Good Luck,
Dick

I have found these sites to be very helpful.

I hope you find these helpful.

The links will probably get scrubbed. A big loss. If they do then try search for "seafoam woodturning video" for a good list of videos and search for "marley turned" for several neat projects under his "Videos" page.

Dunphy's 5 part bowl turning videos are superb, and worth watching more than once. Also several other fun ones at:

Also several neat projects at:

The AAW site (search for "woodturner") has a resources page which lists one short video on a 3 point tool and its use.

Also search for the "woodworking channel" which has a variety of scheduled woodturning demos if you can get their video player to work.
