Anybody have any comments on the router bit sets offered by Neiko, Grizzly or Woodline? I assume that they are no Freud or PC, but are they acceptable for the average Homeowner/Hobby Woodworker.

Hi Joe - In my experience, the Griz and Woodline bits are comparable to Holbren, MLCS, Woodcraft, etc. They're not included in the 20% off deal b/c Amazon.com is not the seller. The Griz bits can be comparatively expensive when you figure shipping...Holbren and MLCS offer free shipping.

This one from Woodline qualifies:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000JEVV50/ref=ord_cart_shr/105-4160341-6608452?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

I used to shy away from these kits and spend the $100 on the five bits I'd actually use, but I wonder if the quality has improved enough that these type of kits are acceptable...some of the reviews are like "I got them, but haven't used them yet, nice case" ...not really helpful.

The Bessey 30 piece Tradesman clamp set is also on sale at $250. It usually lists at $270 to $280.

I just bought a bunch of stuff so the BAC told me I had to wait. Otherwise I'd snap this up.

...looks like alot of the Woodline bits are sold by Amazon and qualify for the discount! Thanks for clarifying....

No problem...I went ahead and ordered them, got Free shipping, 20% off and applied for the Amazon visa for another $30 off...that's 50% total! Not a bad deal...hopefully they'll work OK.

Also I'll mention here something I read in this forum elswhere...that anyone thinking of making a big purchase at Home Depot or Lowes, you can get 10% off coupons on ebay (20% off a Bed Bath & Beyond). It's something I would have never thought of.

One other thing that I did think of, when Home Depot is running 0% interest/no payments for 12 months on purchases over $299, you can buy a gift card and it qualifies. (I have done it several times) That way if you have a project like renovating a bathroom, you can set a budget for say $450 and you don't have to worry about getting every little thing you need right then. And if you are under budget, it's free money anyway (not costing you interest) and I can always find something I need within a year!
