Bloodwood HF with Blackwood pedestal, collar and finial. 10" tall w/ finial by 3 1/2" diameter. These finials can be nerve-wracking, the thin section is 3/32" thick! Buffed Seal-a-cell finish.

Absolutely beautiful.

Very elegant finial. I like the way you tied the lid and pedestal in together with the same flow element. Nice touch!

Keep practicing, Travis. One day you'll get the hang of this. :D

Travis,
Another great piece. The base is something new for you and I like it.

Where do you get your materials? Your postings recently have drifted away from domestic woods.

Neal, maybe so. I'll keep practicing. ;)
Frank, I check eBay every now and then for something that might catch my eye, since the nearest hardwood retailer that carries any exotics is over an hr. away.
Thanks again everyone.

Travis words fail me to be able to describe this one, absolutely fabulous. I don't think you have to worry about getting the hang of it, you're rewriting the book with each new post. Awsome.

I showed this one to my wife, and she said "Why don't you make something like that?" Uh huh.
The breadth of your work is as wonderful as the depth.
