Can someone confirm my thinking? This sounds like a good deal.

Amazon as the Porter Cable 892DT Router Combo Pack (4212 12" Deluxe Dovetail Jig w/892 - 2 1/4 HP Router) for $269 w/ free shipping. Porter cable has a $50 rebate and Amazon has a $25 credit for future purchases.

http://www.amazon.com/Porter-Cable-8...8?ie=UTF8&s=hi (http://www.amazon.com/Porter-Cable-892DT-Router-Combo/dp/B000HGN6XU/sr=8-1/qid=1171821624/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/105-6024533-5398018?ie=UTF8&s=hi)

Out of pocket looks to be $219 after rebate. Include the Amazon credit and it puts the cost down to $194.

Thanks!
Matt

Based on the picture, the jig is the older style with fixed fingers. The new style jig has adjustable fingers for variable spaced DT's like Leigh and Akeda. As for the router I have one like it except with the dust collecting handle. 90+% of my router work in with the table so I probably haven't used this router 10 minutes total. It does have above-the-table bit change and built-in elevation mechanism. The raising mechanism seems flimsy but I haven't heard of any problems with it. The dust collecting handle works quite well when the base covers the work as with dado cuts. It doesn't work at all for edge work. It's hard for me to see how any through the base DC would work well with edge work.

I haven't used the jig, but it is typically priced in the $150 range by itself. It appears to be their "midgrade" dovetail jig, with the 4210 selling for $100. If you don't need a plunge router, it appears to be a pretty good package price.
