My boss will be stepping up our cabinet shop operations pretty soon, therefore we will better dust collection.

Gathering from the research that i have done on the net so far it seems that the best bet for the money will be 5 HP Oneida cyclone.

any body have any better ideas?

How big is your shop? How many machines do you want to run at the same time on your DC system? I think you need to consider how much capacity you need before you pick a cyclone, maybe you have but there is not enough detail in your post for me to know.

I run a home made 5 hp Pentz cyclone for my home shop...my brother in law who owns a custom mill shop has a 20 HP unit...most home set up cyclones are 3 HP or less....depends on your demands....more information will help.:)

Rafael,

I done the same thing as Jim Shaver. I am using a Bill Pentz design 5HP cyclone. Jim has already asked the right questions. It's all based on how many machines, how many feet or piping will be needed to make all the runs, how many turns in the piping will there be..etc...etc...etc....

the shop is about 1000 to 1100 square feet. initially We'll most likely run two machines at once, mainly the table saw and thickness planer.

Rafael,

Here's a link to Bill's site (http://www.billpentz.com/).

I purchased my most recent 5hp Cyclone from ClearVue (http://www.clearvuecyclones.com/).

It is built on Bill's design and they give full credit to Bill. Bill also has links on his site to ClearVue.

The clear cyclone is pretty cool!
