I am so pleased with this piece. For the longest time, I've been saying that I want to make myself a shop pencil and just haven't done it. When I saw Barry Stratton's Moose Antler Pencil on the St Judes Auction, I just had to have it.

This fits perfect in my hand, has lots of weight, it is beautifully done, and it looks good. I stole it...but I woulda bid a lot higher if I had to.;)

Barry also sent me some Caribou Antlers. Somehow I have to make a matching piece to this pencil. I just hope I can do this gift justice.

Oh, and I've found colored leads are great for darker woods like the walnut you've waded into......CSUSA has them as do most craft supply stores.
