Maple about 5" x 5" with dimpled rim. Dyed with Artisan dye. It is a very dark Blue but looks black unless you get it in just the right light. I think cherry dyes better than maple. The inside is left natural. Deft spray lacquer and buffed. Comments and critiques always welcome. Thanks for looking.

Thanks guys! Yup Bernie it is the alcohol based. If you spray it be sure you are well ventilated and wear a mask.

Keith...your eye for form is impeccable. I immediately loved this piece. I even like the color!! When you say that the inside is natural...did you laquer the inside?

Elegant piece.:)

Very nice Keith. Could you show us the bottom of it? I learn alot from how other folks finish the bottoms. And, inevidebly people like to pick up a turned piece and look at the bottom for some reason.

What a super nice piece Keith, it would make any room more inviting. Is the wall thickness the same as the brim?

Keith, I like the contrasting colors in this one. The finish is superb as well as the design, all this adds up to a wonderful piece.
