I just added another project to my new blog.
I plan to update my blog with each project that I complete.
Some will be mundane and some will hopefully be of interest to you.

I welcome your feedback.

Another nice job. Looks great. One question, at the end of your blog you put around the top unfinished boards (2x8?), are you planning on putting a finish on them like the deck railing? Love the custom doors.

Yes, I plan to stain the new boards to match, but I need to wait a while for the boards to dry since they're new pressure treated lumber.

The shed is nice, but that trailer lift is ingenious!

Great Job Alan. You said the concrete floor heaved, and that you left space for that. It appears that you poured the concrete around the original deck support posts. The original footings on the deck posts will prevent those from heaving. But did you somehow separate the concrete floor from the deck support posts? I am just wondering what the effects of heaving will be to the original footings of the support posts, long term, if the floor and support beams are not separated, or somehow isolated from one to the other.

You do very nice work. I would have never, in a million years, thought of the drill press speed detector (or whatever you would call it), but then again I don't have a degree in Electrical Engineering. The shed is a great use of space. I love that trailer lift. What kind of garage door opener do you have? Super Work. Thanks for sharing. Bill

Thanks Anthony! The concrete has expansion joints around the posts.
The garage door opener is a screw drive model by genie (excelerator).:)

Thanks Alan, I got it now. How much did the concrete slab heave? I think I am going to try that garage door opener. I could use the extra room to install a hoist system, as you have done with the trailer, and weld a basket to hold the extras from the house. Thanks again, Bill

Approx. 1/2" to 3/4" ... a surprising amount.

The winch that is lifting my trailer is a harbor freight $79 winch.
It can lift 880 lbs when you use a single pulley.
