I went to Amazon.com and I can't get specs on the 10" or the 12" Makita slding mitersaw. I want to know what the width they crosscut at 90 and 45 degrees. Can anyone help ? This information is not on the Amazon site.

Never mind on the specs. I just ordered the 12" Makita from Amazon. It includes laser and light and they sell it for $597. However, when I checked out, it was $452 deleivered. I have seen them go for more than that on ebay, plus shipping. Thanks for the tip on Amazon

Oh my gosh I love Amazon. What am I missing here??? I just ordered the 12 inch with laser and light, 452 delivered. I will sell the free 18 volt drill set on ebay for 80% of what amazon is asking for a new one which will be around 160 dollars. Take that off of the saw price and you get the saw for 292 dollars. Now that is a great deal.

Went ahead and pulled the trigger on the 12" 1214FL also. Already had a yellow non slider, but deals like this don't come your way too often.

Well, Amazon owes SMC a percentage for all the saws this forum sold. I went for the 12" also. I see four, anyone want to make five.

Thanks for the GREAT tip.

I pulled the trigger on the 1214FL for $452 shipped. Time to sell my Hitach C10FSH and C10FCH. I have a Bosch 4212L and may sell that too if I really like the Makita. Ships in 2-5 weeks, gives me time to cancel if I change my mind. :)

If it is anything like the 10" you are not going to like it, you are going to love it.

i should have tried the 12" saw on checkout before i purchased the 10" :(
now i have both coming to my house and i will have to send back the 10".

i also picked up a 12" forster chopmaster for $88 shipped

Told my brother about the deal. He already had the 10" model and was pissed I got the 12 for less than he paid for the 10. Says he's going to order the 12", sell it, and give the drill to his FIL for his birthday. Said this way he should get some brownie points from his wife, because she (and he) would think he spent big bucks for her dad's present.
LMAO

gotta love amazon.....Craig, I bought the Forrester Chopmaster 12" 2 weeks ago, from a tip here, for $88. It was supposed to be for my yellow non slider. It was delivered last week. Sure glad it was too cold in my shop to install it. Thanks much for starting this thread.

The Makita blade that comes with this saw is supposed to cut very nice. Some say it cuts better than the Forrest. I'm going to stick with the stocker and I have two 12" 96 tooth Freuds sitting on the shelf.

I love this forum. I was looking at both the 12" sliding Makita and Bosch last night, and I almost pulled the trigger on the $550 Bosch. Now I have the Makita and a free $200 drill on the way for $450. Woohoo!

I just ordered the 12 inch model. Had been ready to buy at xmas, but the washer went out so my tool money went down the drain, so to speak. What a great deal.

How do you get the $452? It only shows at 597 for me.

Don't forget to get the info on the rebate also. The rebate details are earlier in this thread. I missed the rebate when I bought the saw. Go for it !!!!

I want to point out a good deal on a 12" Hitachi Blade from Amazon. They have a 90 tooth blade for about $22 after the 20% and then the 25% off promotions. The blade gets very good reviews!

It still shows $599 + shipping/handling....this via Grizzly. I bet that they had it for that price at Amazon direct and sold out. The one thing I hate about Amazon the last couple years is this multi seller system. Amazon also shows a similar Bosh 12" for 540 on sale from 1190.

I have wanted a sliding miter for 12 years now when I then bought the 12 inch Dewalt. At the time I couldnt justify the $800 for the Makita which was the only sliding miter at the time I think. I got the 12" Dewalt for about $380 back then and its been a workhorse. Im still struggling to justify the slider with laser but if its at a great price, used or new I could go for it. I suppose there are other things I should do first like get a decent dust collection piping set up.

thanks again

Your right. I was looking at the other model that didnt show up with the discount. Its still there. These things never go on sale so a good buy and with the coupon ........exceptional.
thanks again

Glad you found it Wayne. Anybody else think SMC will put Amazon.com out of business ? How do they do it ?

What does "At Checkout" actually mean? I got all the way through up to the point of putting my CC# in and didn't see the 10" for less than $446.50.

Put your CC # in, continue forward one more page which is the confirmation and you will see the discount. You can then submit your order from that page.

Trigger pulled on the 10" saw. Been wanting one since I built the miter station for the old srs saw. I'll probably give the old saw to my son.

Kudos for the heads up on this deal. I was not even thinking of upgrading my saw until I saw this.

I mentioned the deal to my wife and how I could offset the cost by selling my old saw and selling the free drill kit and to my surprise  she said to go ahead. She thought it was a great deal and she had been saving some money for a rainy day and just handed it over.

Just pulled the trigger on the 12" saw.

Only downside is that I think thanks to SMC they are now backordered until about March 21 or later. :(

My 12" saw shipped yesterday from Dallas, TX via UPS Ground. It's due for delivery this Friday. I sold my C10FSH for $350, so it was about $100 to upgrade to this Makita. I liked the Hitachi and the smoothness of the motor, but I disliked the small base.

Well, I guess I missed the boat. Just logged into Amazon and the saw was listed as "Makita LS1013F 10" Dual Slide Compound Miter saw with Light $442.88" all the way to the final confirmation.:( Wish I would have seen this sooner! In any case, my thanks to Craig Lapiana for posting this originally! Nice job!
