Spindle lock ???

Does anyone know of a way to make a non spindle locked lathe into one that does ?
I want to do a couple of turnings using a router to carve out areas but unfortunately my lathe does not have a lock on it --
I have a Grizzly G0462....

Make or buy a indexing wheel that will fit behind the chuck or faceplate.
I have seen some nice homemade ones on the net. You should be able to do a search for how to make one.
a simple wheel with holes drilled and a locking arm with a pin mounted to your lathe will keep it locked while doing your work.
