My brother gave me an early Christmas present, an 18 gauge, ¼" Narrow Crown Stapler.

Nice tool, but what the heck are these very narrow staples good for?

I got a dresser back to attach (¼" ply), they would work better than the brads, but other than that I can't figure out what it is good for. The staples are too narrow for upholstery work, too small for construction use. I'm at a loss.

Mike,

I've got the PC flavor of that very tool. Only thing that I use it for it attaching cabinet backs......not much good for anything else.

Sorry,

Ron

Yup, that's about it, BUT it does such a nice job. :)

I have the PC version that will shoot up to 1-1/2". I use mine all the time. If I need to fasten something where the nail won't show, I will use the 1/4" staple. Great holding power.
I'm sure you will find many uses for this tool. :)

I have the bostich version and I have used mine for upholstery work. Enough staples will hold just about anything. I also used it this summer to build some trusses. I first glued the plywood to the 2x4 and then used the stapler to hold the plywood in place until the glue dried.

Have fun and watch your fingers.
