Shopfox 17" Bandsaw Good Deal

Would like the forums opinion. I have found a 1yr old Shopfox 17" bandsaw (Model W1707) on craigslist in my area for $750. Rated 2HP at 220V drawing 12A.

Does anyone think this is a good deal on a bandsaw? I was saving up for MM16, but that is a good ways away.

Thats a good price since they are running about $950.00 or so brand new plus shipping, how much has it been used, hobby or pro shop...

One benefit is you can try before you buy. I have the 19" and have been satisfied, but have him let you use it. Bring some wood and try resawing and cutting some curves just to see how it performs.

Pictures look like the saw is in good shape. States on the description that it was used for one project.

I looked on Craigslist and found the saw your talking about. I just purchased the Grizzly G0513X 17" band saw. I am very happy with it so far. I believe the Grizzly is very similar to the Shopfox. I also have a 10" Shopfox table saw I really like.

I think the $750 is a great buy. The saw appears to be in perfect shape.
