Though a bit tongue and cheek, the previous images where in real time. I was able to produce that "long and thin" shaving right out of the box!!

Joe, thanks for the post. Since I don't have any planes this is a good option for me to consider. I like the idea of wooden planes and, like you, my budget is very limited considering all the tools that I don't have.
