Carob Natural Edge Burnt Texture

This is the end section of a Carob log I had. Not sure if it is really a bowl but that is what I am going to call it. The piece is 11 1/2 inches at the widest point and 7 inches at the smallest. The bark fell of so I decorated the rim with a burn stipple effect. The finsh is Watco and it still needs to cure and be rubbed out.

Steve Dunn told me to set my Carob out in the sun and it would turn an even darker shade of red. Did you try that with your piece?
