Does anyone know of a site where there are simple nightstands to build? A friend wants me to build one but cant find one with a drawer that I am comfortable in trying to build. Ive only been ww for a couple of months now and have limited skills but have the basic equipment that I need. Thanks

Brian, if I might suggest, go down to the local Barnes & Nobel or any other book store, look through the craft/woodworking section. There should be plenty of books on various styles of furniture. If you are uncomfortable with a certain joint or method, modify them to meet your skills. You can also find a ton of woodworking books at amazon.com.

Best of luck

Brian.....As suggested go to Barnes and Noble....any book store and you can get book on building furniture. Taunton Press...home of Fine Wood Working I'm sure has some.

But in reality...for a simple drawer....you can just build a box and attach the drawer front to the front of the box. Norm at New Yankee Workshop has used this method in more than one of his shows. If you have a router or even just a table saw you can make a fairly strong drawer without using dovetails.

Thanks for all the replies. Here we have a Borders Books, as far as the drawer its the easiest for me to make and not concerned about. Alot of the plans online you have to purchase which I dont care to do. Guess Ill be taking a trip to the book store for ideas.

Hey Brian

Check out www.finewoodworking.com (http://www.finewoodworking.com) there is a huge selection of categories on books and DVD's. If not the bookstores, you'll definitely find something there. Good luck!
