A new Box Elder bowl, rough turned wet and soaked in DA. 7" x 3" x 1/4". Finished with oil and my new Beall Buffing System. I want to get better with my design, so please critique away.

Ron........You did a good job with that box elder. I've turned dry box elder and found it somewhat a challenge as I get a lot of tearout.

I like the shape for a basic round shape and I think you nailed the curve. The base.....I'm undecided if I'd like to see it a little smaller or not.....

Everything considered.....I think you did a good job on a basic shape.

Beautiful bowl... that is nice wood and a nice simple form! I don't actually see anything wrong with it! Well done!

Ron, your bowl looks as if it follows the rule of design on the bottom being 1/3 the size of the top, you have maintained a wall thickness which enhances the overall look of the piece, and the curve is perfect. I like the bowl, keep the pictures comming.

Ron bowl looks good to me. I had a time with the box elder I had. I roughed it and soaked it but it cracked big time for me. Did manage to save it. You did a nice job.

Well, Ron, if you're looking for "help" to improve on that bowl, afraid I can't. No tooling marks, consistent curve, good proportions, nice wood, nice finish...What more can a guy ask for? Well done! :)

That's for sure! I can't make a simple bowl to save my life. I think you've done a nice job on this Ron.:)
