Bacote hollow form, 6" diameter by 3 1/4" tall. I took a tip from Neal Addy's Cocobola from last week and used no finish, only buffed it with the Beall.

Nice! Bacote is one of my favorite turning woods relative to exotics. There is such nice contrast in the figure and it looks very rich. (For folks who do pens, it's really one of my favorites there, too)

That is one beautiful piece, Travis. Great form and looks like it buffs out real good. I've got one piece waiting in the wings. Might have to pull it out.

That's giving "au natural" its highest form. Great looking piece and amazing shine from the raw wood. Is the depth as good as it looks in the pictures?

Travis what can I say. I hope when I get my system I can do something half as good as that. I love the form and finish. Nice.

I'm thinking of programming a key on my computer that will just automatically add "That's a beauty Travis" for whenever you post something. You have a way of nailing those hollow forms.

Just kidding...another great work Travis and the beal buff is impressive, I might have to check into that once I get moved north to Wa state and all set up again.

That's a dandy! If you'd have said it had a finish applied I would have believed it. Impressive the way that wood shines up.

Very elegant, I can't believe there's no finsh on it:) I'm working on a segmented piece with Bocote right now. I can only hope it looks close to that good. Again very nice.

The form is great of course...but I like how the grain flows and wraps around....with those little spikes of figure to break up the flow a little bit. Nice job at putting nature on display Travis.

Beautiful HF Travis. I ahve found several types of wood that I think need no finish. Olivewood, kingwood, cocobolo being some. I think I will experiment on more types now that i have the buffing system. Thanks for showing.

You know, Travis, I'm still waiting for the day when you post a piece and I can say, "Yeah. It's OK, but heck, even I can do one like that." Outstanding, as always and no, I can't make the above statement! :) Well done, my friend! Beautiful. :)

Once again you have impressed me with your eye for form and finish. Be proud of what you do - you do inspire many others besides myself.

Looking forward to your next turning!

used no finish, only buffed it with the Beall.

Absolutely gorgeous hollowform Travis!!

I'm new to Beall buffing and was wondering to what grit you sand prior to buffing.
