Has anyone used this router (PC891 with GripVac base)? http://www.porter-cable.com/index.asp?e=547&p=4854
I own 3 of PC's 690 series routers and am very happy with their performance. I haven't use a 890 series yet, so info on the motor performance would also be helpful.
My main question is about the "GripVac" dust collection through the handle. How good of a job does it do at collecting dust and chips. I would be using it mostly as a dedicated tool for plowing dados.
I know alot of you will say buy the Dewalt 621 and I may do that. I'm sure its a good router by all of the postive feedback it has recieved on this forum but I just wanted to keep my options open. I don't have anything against Dewalt, I own several of their tools and they have served me well.
I don't like to brand-buy but I do consider a companies past performance. Porter Cable, Dewalt, Bosch, Hilti, ect. all make great tools. I tend to pick the best tool for the job that I need it to do. If there seems to be a tie in the quality/Do-ability catagory, then I will let price rule my purchase. So, have any of you used the PC891?
