Background:
Some time ago I posted this thread (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=47140) on a prototype box that became a Christmas present to my aunt.

Following that post, and the thread that developed as a result, a Customer Service representative from Leigh contacted me to ask if I would be interested in allowing them to add photos of the box in one of the Galleries at the Leigh web site.

The Leigh representative was very interested in the innovative "bow ties" that resulted from playing around with end-on-end dovetails using walnut accents in sycamore. They had never seen this done; of course, I never had either, until I started playing around with the theme in the shop one afternoon.

I received notification today that the box is now posted in their Inlaid Dovetails Gallery (http://leighjigs.com/gallery.php?pid=1&section=15). My box is the one in the last two photos in the Gallery.

I am truly humbled by this experience, and wanted to share it with my friends and fellow woodworkers. My thanks to all of you who made such positive comments; it truly fuels a nice fire under my feet! http://www.forums.woodnet.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yellowsmile.gif

Enjoy!

That's excellent, Al!
Something to be proud of. Also, I think the contrast of the woods is perfect to my eye, it just looks "right".
Congratulations!

Send some of that talent and skill down my way, would yoiu/ Very, very nice work. I am a "Box Novice" but working on developing the skills. Picked up two Doug Stowe books on box making over the X-mas holiday and playing around with some cherry, walnut and maple. Thanks for the motivation!!

Thank you so much for all the nice words!

The original post was an effort to share a new technique with fellow woodworkers, to achieve end-on-end dovetails with an accent wood. That it has developed into such a nice outcome is truly something special!

My thanks to all!
