As for the blades, are the Hitachi blades any good? They have a 30-day money back guarantee, so I guess you can't go wrong.

I purchased the Hitachi 726101 12-Inch 90 Tooth blade for my CMS. I used it for the first time this past weekend trimming out the base molding in a house. Worked great, I have zero complaints. I'd say the cuts were comparable to the Freud LUM85 blade on my 10" MS. You can't beat the price, so why not try one out.

Perfect timing, the blade on my Makita 1221 is dull from cutting laminate flooring.

Ordering from Amazon is an adventure. They show the 12" blade 2x, one is $39.95 and ships immediately, but the coupon code doesn't work. The other is $39.99 and ships 1-2 months.
