New Guy on the block

Hello everyone,

I am a new woodworker and have been lurking about the Oak and Pond for about 2 years now. Gaining insight to what equipment to buy and what to stay away from. This forum is a great way to learn about woodworking. I will try to attach my first "furniture" project-a blanket chest. I am going to inscribe inside "This chest is a lot like me...Way more complex than it needs to be, and has a lot of mistakes. but does not look too bad from a distance".

I enjoy all of your discussions.

I have been a lurker at BP for a while and I must confess that after trying all the other forums that most have migrated to, I really like this format and these folks. The combination of both has caused me to stop lurking and jump in. I don't feel like someone here will step on my lack of knowledge, but rather try to help me grow in experience and education. Welcome, but be prepared to stay a while.
