I'm glad you posted this. Yesterday, while in Lowe's I remembered reading your post so I ventured over to the sanders. Sure enough, the Porter Cable 6" VS ROS was on clearance for $41, down from $119. They were sold out, but had the floor model left and Lowe's sold it to me for $20.00. I don't really need the ROS, but I could not pass up such a sweet deal. The only downside about it is now I have to buy 6" sanding pads in addition to the 5" pads for my Dewalt.

As soon as I saw your post I started to scheme how I could get out of work a little early and swing by the local blue box and get one of these. Then....I did a little research on the web. It looks as though this is a PSA model with no dust collection. :eek:
Am I correct? If so, I'll have to pass on this one.:(

Affirmative, its a PSA model with no dust control. Still, its a deal, my Lowes here in NJ were all sold out 'cept for a forelorn looking display piece with a fatally cracked housing, so I didn't have to make the decision on the PSA, I'm generally a hook\loop kinda guy....
