Spindle chair dismantle

How would one go about dismantling the spindles from a spindle chair. I'm talking about a perfectly sound chair.

Why wood you do that?

For older chairs, inject hot water in and around the spindle holes, wait a few minutes and try to tap the joints apart. For newer chairs, try vinegar. It is a solvent for most modern glues. A good stiff tap will break most glue joints after a bit of soaking. If this fails you may have to drill small holes so that the liquid can get to the joint.
