That link is coming up $59.99 for me right now. Amazon and Sears prices change every couple hours, so perhaps I should be a little more patient? :)

Amazon (and other e-tailers) are known to dynamically adjust their prices based on your buying history, or lack thereof, with them.

Try deleting any cookies from Amazon.com that you may have, as I have read that they give "first timers" (determined by the presence of a cookie) a lower price to sucker them into becoming a customer and then showing different prices sometime after one has become "established" as a regular customer.

The dynamic price adjusting while a distastful practice, is legal according to a consumer article I read some time ago.

I know sometimes they just do it to get interest, then when orders start getting placed they up the price. Sometimes they just up the price a little at a time, other times its just one big jump, I think it depends on how many orders are placed.

Yeah, I think they sell a few dozen at the low price so that the deal gets posted all over the internet, and then they get thousands of people to view the page, hoping to get a deal.
It also gets people in the habit of constantly check Amazon for deals, and to impulse buy when they do see a deal, since it often only lasts for hours.

Mark,

Thanks for the heads up. I got both blades. They indicated 9 left on one and one left on the other. Wonder if that is just a come on to make you order 'now'.

Whatever....mine went through fine, shipping Feb. 5.

Amazon does that all the time. I suspect it is as someone else said; essentialy a loss-leader where they offer it up for super cheap, sell a few, then bump the price way up (but still under retail) once the word is out.

The Freud Super Dado was $129 a couple days ago. It is now back to $199. Not at all surprised. The big question is whether they honor those super cheap prices initially. I would imagine they do, otherwise they would be in deep kimchi.

I don't know that they would have to honor the price. I ran across a very very cheap (obviously mistaken) price on a website the other day, and that price was not honored. I didn't expect it to be, but I was hopin'!

It'll be close to flat, but the ATB teeth stick up slightly higher than the FTG teeth leaving tiny "bat ears"...not quite as pronounced as those on regular ATB blades, but not as flat as a true FTG blade like a 24T ripper.

is also on sale. $29.99 - 20%
+ free shipping = $23.99 for the blade at your door.

Reviews seems to think that the coating doesn't do all that much, so I went with the cheaper option - thanks for the heads up on a great deal!

Look at the date of the first post. The $29.99 price was about a month ago.
Today with promo code is $31.99.

The item showes in stock. The qty 1-instock you see on your order is. You ordered one blade and it is in stock.

I ordered this rip blade last night about 9:30. When I returned from work today there was an email saying it had shipped. :) I checked Amazon's site and followed the links. It left Louisville today. Seems like people (maybe rightfully) so give Amazon's shortcomings bandwidth. I thought it fair to share their other side.

LU84- $39.99, less 20 percent= $31.99, open a Amazon credit card, take another $30 off= $1.99 deliverd to your door. Kinda hard to resist temptation, but I already have a couple of them. One came from Sears a couple of years ago when they cleaned out Freud blades. Cost me less than $15.00.

The 25% is deducted automatically. Just add the blade to your cart to see the discount. It applies to all Hitachi power tool accessories. There's only a handful of 10 & 12 inch Hitachi blades that let you get both discounts, though.

If you look at the product page for the Hitachi 12" blade it shows the following text about a quarter of the way down under "Product Promotions":

I missed the 29.99 price last month, but grabbed one of the combo blades tonight for $31.99. Of course Amazon will never honor the free shipping to Alaska. They wanted $21.00 to ship it!! I had it sent to my Dad in PA. Should fit in a flat rate priority box for 8.10. Still better that I can do locally.

I get emails from Amazon.com that usually tell me about the promos. In addition, I look at the Amazon.com tools section nearly every day and it has the specials listed on its main page.
