Just a head's up. Lowes is selling the 36-322L Twin Laser 12" CMS for $199. If you buy it tonight, there's a $35 mail in Lowe's gift card. Since Amazon is selling this saw for $342, I think it's probably a decent deal.

I know I couldn't resist upgrading my 10" Shopmaster tonight!

No, it's an "Industrial" model. Just go to Amazon and plug in the model number I have above. You should get all the info you need.

Found one. Doesn't haVE THE "SLIDER" mechanism. Will I miss that? Seems good buy @ $199 for Delta 12" and lasers. Thanks for tip...

I am having problems getting to it online. I click on the Delta machinery page and I see the saw with the $35 gift card, but nothing available at my local stores. Insight???

Well, I missed the $35 GC, but found one saw at the local Lowe's - last one / display model for $175 (no manual, etc.) But the tool guy steered me to a Hitachi 12LCH close-out for $190. Similar features as the Delta and with a digital display. Amazon price for this one is ~ $340.

Any feedback or recommendations for a choice?

Mike

At our local Lowe's, the Hitachi was still $249. I might have gone Hitachi for $190, but I like the twin laser function, and I have had good luck with Delta so far. Plus, I have heard some complaints regarding accuracy with the digital readout on the Hitachi.

I also have my woodshop in an unheated barn, so I thought that anything digital was just asking to break down.

Regarding the question above about getting the Delta online, I don't know anything about that. I can't even get it to come up on the Lowe's web site here. I just thought it was worth letting some people know, since Amazon is still selling this saw for $342 or something like that.

The first 2 Lowes store called had none. The 3rd, a new one, had 4 . I took one home today...Store people knew nothing of $35 GC. I bought @ $199 but at checkout, girl handed me another certificate for a $35 GC. Was a little disappointed in store w display model not locking easily in 45 and 33 degrees etc. Tool clerk felt it was assembled incorrectly:confused: :) Plan to set up new one tonight and test. Good bang for the buck methinks. Thanks

SKU# please. I don't mind the drive, IF I know something is available.

Randall, I don't have SKU in front of me but when u call just tell them 12" Delta laser CMS. They 'll find it for you. They only carry the one from Delta.

Ran mine tonight. All fine and OK. Very accurate right out of box. My concerns went away. Looks like a good machine w 12" capacity, twin lasers, etc. There is added bonus too of bevel adjustment in front vs the Back on my old Delta 10" CMS..The display model @ store wasn't assembled correctly (Imagine that:) !!). I'm happy and my SIL will be too when he gets my 10".

Ok,

Found one at the local Lowe's for $199. The problem with the $35 GC is that you had to buy the saw by 1/31/07. I would have needed the extra to justify the expenditure to LOML, considering I already have 2 saws.
