Well here is a scrap piece of cherry I was going to throw in what I call the bone pile. Then I decided to pull it out and see what I could do. Had no idea till I turned the lathe on. It is a little HF which is 6 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" across. Walls are 1/8". It is lacquer finish and buffed. The LOML already has dried flowers in it.

That is one beautiful piece! I'm new at this so I've never seen what a piece like that looks like before you start. Any pics before? I'd really like to try something like that but i don't know what to look for in the wood. Again, very nice job.:D

Thanks everyone. Yep it is one and the same. The old Kansas boy who turn his first bowl (and I had to go look) in Feb of 2006. So next month a year. I appreciate all the kind words.
Yep Dennis my 2 best pieces I have turned came from the pile headed for the neighbors firewood pile.
