7-1/2" x 1" and 1/8" thick.

I think this is one of the first plates I've turned. Worked out well I think. The opening in the edge was a bark inclusion. has some nice coloring and figure in it.

Thanks for looking
Bob

Very nice platter/bowl. Nice piece of wood and a nice smooth finish. Looks like someone took a bite of it:D

Looks like my dad was eating. I tell him when he gets to formica to stop eating!:) Maybe I should tell him, when he gets to the top of the dish now!

Nice plate Bob,I really like the shape. ( I did one in spalted birch but alas the cookie monster et the whole thing... ) I like doing the internal recess, gives more room for the plate ...great job!

Paul, this one is actually footed, as I started it between centers so it ended up with a tenon. The foot is very small in height as I turned it down when I reversed it. Can't see it but the foot has a burned line that is the same height of the foot.

Thinking on it I don't suppose starting it between centers precludes using a recess, but defaulted to a tenon.

Thanks

That's a beauty, Bob. What character! There's a lot going on in that piece of wood and you've captured it well.

Very nice work, Bob. I agree with Keith - looks like somebody took a bite out of the edge.
