Although this is not a totally turned project, there is a lot of turning involved as you can see. The locomotive measures 19" long, 5-1/2" wide x 8-1/2" tall. It is mostly cherry with some purpleheart, walnut, ebony and some other woods. I have with this engine a coal car, two passenger cars, a gondola car, a log car, two boxcars and a caboose, with track, when combined it mearures 12' long.

I'm really impressed by your creativity. I'd have never thought of this in a million years.

Is it going to any particular little one? Must be someone special.

Very Nice! That's quite an interesting project. How much time would you estimate having in the engine?

I would "guess" 40 hours or so.

That is fantastic! Great work and attention to detail! Thanks for sharing the rest of the train as I was interested in that like the others. Have a nephew interested in the lathe that outgrew Thomas the Tank Engine, when he sees this he will flip! Thanks for showing this.

The Whole train is just too cool Keith. You already know that I want to do this. You set the bar and you set it high.

Oh...I spotted something

Fantastic train, tremendous work. Both my husband and I are retired railroaders and are wondering one thing, where's the most natural car for a woodturner? What's that you ask? Why the TANK car of course!

Great work, keep on rollin'!

Now that is cool Keith. As a former model railroader, I can't imagine doing something like that. Very nice!

Keith, that is remarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrkable!!! !!!!! What a fantastic project! No way to put a dollar amount on something like that... since you're so much older than me, one of these days I won't be surprised to see this on the Antique Road Show being appraised for a fat chunk of change....:D

Thanks all for your kind comments. It probably took over three years to complete the "total" train. If I hadn't run out of wall space I would probably still be adding cars. Thanks again.
