Wally,
I'm active duty Air Force and was last stationed in Rapid City, SD. Virginia allows me to use my military exemption and keep my vehicles licensed in SD. I primarily keep it SD licensed as it's cheaper to register and I don't have to get an annual VA vehicle emissions test done. Once I retire from the military, then I'll have to register it in the state I'm living.

We put the LMBR WGN tags on my Windstar van since it creaks and groans quite a bit and it's hauled quite a bit of lumber the past few years.
