I posted this thread on the Festool Owners group.

In the controversial Domino thread a member used my picture

in a derogatory way, insinuating I am selling bridges.

Nothing of the sort. Here is the thread in its entirety.

Wait he didn't say I was selling bridges, I received no credit at all.

Hello Every One,

Often the subject comes up about guide rail linkage.

Some do, some don't. Link em up that is.

I have never had a problem randomly linking any of our rails together.

I don't do any thing special. No secret way, no mystery and no complaint.

I don't whip out my digital calipers or gun smithing tools.

Just take a quick look and cut.

Today we trimmed the back of the front bar with the 1400 and a 1/2 inch

straight bit. tomorrow add the drink rail.

Then the Bar rail goes on.

Some minor punch list items and its check please.

Per,

A nice solution to a problem most of us don't have to face. I can't imagine the challenges you must have in a single 30 foot long work piece.

What kind of a place is that going to be? Open to the public? I've never been anyplace that nice.

Awesome, Per...just don't move that router too fast, it may reach take-off speed on that excellent "runway"!!

John, I hope that Per posts the "before" and "after" pictures he also had in the thread at the Festool Owners Group Forum...it goes from a, well...not-so-attractive place...to really classy thanks to the outstanding work of Per and Bob. Per has a thread or three here at SMC on some of the construction...

John,

Its a livingston NJ elks lodge.

This is my niche market.

I tired of trimming endless condos, town houses and beige McMansions.

So I told my father, Pops, Lifes to short for the mundane.

I wanna do grand resturants and bars and your gonna help.

(He turns 82 next week) Its a great gig.

Thank you Jim.

Nice work Per, but I haven't seen anything of yours, and Bob's that wasn't nice work, and beyond.

No matter what the tool, or the color of the tool. It's only as good, and useful, as the hands and the mind that guide it. I think we lose track of that all to often, and threads, like the Domino thread, spiral out of control.

Your tools are obviously being guided by very good hands, and creative minds.
Well done bro'.... and Pop's

Per, I think you will go down in the record books for owning the world's longest jointer :D.

You and your dad do some outstanding work. I will continue to aspire to your level of craftsmanship.

I wonder how many Domino gloats will see posted here come April...you can count me in ;).
