I see so many requests for help with laser raster settings that it seems there should be a standard way to respond so that they are at least somewhat usable.

What I'd like to suggest is this:

1. List the wattage of your machine and the percent of power you are using.

2. List the PPI and DPI settings.

3. List the Inches Per Second of your setting. This is critical because nearly all brands operate at different speeds.

So if you know your machine rasters at 80 inches per second and you are at 60 percent then your speed setting would be 48 inches per second. If your machine rasters at 140 inches per second then your speed at 60 percent would be 84 inches per second. (if you divide 48 by 140 you will get 34+% X 140 = 48.)

You could also calculate the watts if you chose to do so in the same fashion but that setting is more obvious than the speed setting which seems to go unrecognized.

Just my 2 cents worth.
