Ridgid drill press 1550

I have a bench top drill press. It has worked well but is limited in what it can do . It's a pain to drill pen blanks and it's really underpowered. I can stall it very easily. With a gift certificate and coupon I can get the Ridgid 1550 drill press for about 200 bucks. Does anyone have one? Do you like it?

The limited quill travel has kept me from getting the Ridgid to replace my current DP despite some of the incredible deals I've seen on it. My next DP will have at least 4" of quill travel or I won't bother to "upgrade".
