Hi,
I've been cutting veneer about 1/16 inch thick on my bandsaw and then sanding it on my performax. Sometimes the drum contacts the belt and rubs the abrasive off. I've leveled the drum. I think maybe the paper might be wound a little loose.. Anyway what process do you use to cut and sand veneer?
Thanks for your help!

Dave I usually run my veneers thru on top of a piece of mdf. This obviously gives you more clearance.

Ron,
That's a good idea. Too bad I didn't think of that before I ruined my belt:mad:

hey dave - i learned the same way - so replaced the belt -
have used mdf but had a piece of fiber sound board - 1/2 - works great and no need for double sided tape.

Thanks for the idea. Not familiar with fiber sound board. But I'll look for it at Home Depot or Lowes.

Dave, he may be referring to Homasote. The 'borg carries it, but only in 4'x8' sheets. However...the extra piece makes for a very nice bench cover during finishing work, etc... ;)
